The First Apple Store in Silicon Valley

The first ever Apple retail store was opened at a property at 451 University Avenue Palo Alto in October 2001.

Years after the opening, Apple moved their first store to a larger location. Currently, the property is a Shoe Palace popup retail store.

Once the lease with Shoe Palace ends, the retail property will be converted to a museum commemorating the first Apple store.

Author’s Note:

While visiting the site of the first Apple store I met Nitan Shalon, a former classmate of Steve Job’s daughter Eve, who went to high school in Palo Alto. Eve raced horses while she was a member of her high school equestrian team.
