The Memphis Music Hall of Fame was established in 2012 and I visited the site in January, 2018. Thus, this museum is newer than most I have visited.
The area around the musuem has various historical markers regarding musicians, such as Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash and others who had been in Memphis.
Benjamin Franklin Booker was born as a slave. After the civil war he taught himself local and state laws and became an attorney without going to law school. Benjamin Franklin Booker is best known for his 1905 lawsuit against laws permitting streetcar segregation in Tennessee.

When the explorer Hernando De Soto and his army arrived in 1541, they were the first Europeans set their settlements at the Fourth Chickasaw Buff, bear the site of the future city of Memphis.
The City Of Memphis Tennessee was founded in 1819 by Andrew Jackson, John Overton and Andrew Jackson. The three men decided to name the town Memphis after the ancient capital of Egypt which lay in the Nile River.
