Big Basin Redwoods State Park – California‚Äôs First State Park

In 1902, the Big Basin Redwoods State Park was established as California’s first state park, after the efforts of the “Save The Redwoods” organization.

The Big Basin Redwoods was regularly photographed by Andrew Putnam Hill, whom is credited with helping create the Big Basin State Park through people’s reactions to his photographs.
