Mississippi – The State With The Most Lynchings Of African Americans in The United States

From 1882 to 1968, 539 African Americans and 42 Caucasians were lynched in the State of Mississippi. More African Americans were lynched in Mississippi, then in any other state in the United States.

Author’s Note:

In Georgia, 492 African Americans were lynched between 1882 to 1968.
