
In 1984, Chantilly, Virginia was founded as a suburban segment of Fairfax County. However, the area around Chantilly has been the site of plantations built in the 1700s, including the Sully Plantation, as well as the site of the largest Civil War Battle in Fairfax County, Virginia.
