
In 1884, the Vale Schoolhouse of Oakton, Virginia was constructed, along Vale and Fox Mill Mill Road, as a one room schoolhouse to educate the children of farmers within the community of Vale. The building was utilized as a schoolhouses until 1931, and was converted to a community center soon after.

The Vale Schoolhouse has been restored to its original condition and is listed in the U.S. Department of Interior’s list of historic sites.
