The Battles Of First And Second Bull Run

On July 21, 1861, Battle of First Bull Run, also known as the Battle of First Manassas, was the first major battle of the U.S. Civil War and was a confederate victory.

On August 28, 1862, Battle of Second Bull Run, also known as the Battle of Second Manassas, began with the union army having a force twice the size of General Robert Edward Lee’s confederate force.

On August 30th, the Battle of Second Bull Run ended with a decisive victory for the confederacy despite them being outnumbered.

In present day, the sites of the Battle of First Bull Run and the Battle of Second Bull Run are within the Manassas Battlefield National Park.
