Pamplin Historic Park And The National Museum Of The Civil War Soldier

The National Musuem of the Civil War Soldier is located within the April 2, 1865 “Breakthrough” site during the end of the siege of Petersburg. The site was were confederate soldiers surrendered to union soldiers, which led to the invasion of the city of Richmond and the end of the U.S. Civil War shortly after.

The lands within the end of the siege of Petersburg have been designated as the Pamplin Historical Park.

The Pamplin Historical Park is sponsored by the Pamplin Foundation of Portland, Oregon which is chaired by Dr. Robert Boisseau Pamplin.

Dr. Robert Boisseau Pamplin the third wealthiest individual living in the state of Oregon.
