Origins Of The Amish Faith

The Amish faith, in addition to the Mennonite and Brethren faiths, was part of the conservative Anabaptist movement created as a response to the Reformation in 16th Century Europe. In the 1720s, hundreds of Amish moved to Lancaster County, Pennsylvania to escape religious persecution in Europe. In present day, Lancaster County has the largest community of Amish followers in the United States of America.
