Philip Astley – The Father Of The Modern Circus

Philip Astley is considered, by many, to be the father of the modern circus. Philip created an amphitheatre in which many of his shows, such as “The Flying Wardrobe” and “The Battle of Waterloo”, were displayed to the European public in the 1800s.
