The Empire Mine State Park

The Empire Mine State Park

The Empire Mine California State Park was one of the most productive mines in the country during the gold rush era. The land was established as a California park in 1975.

During the Presidency of Franklin Roosevelt the rate for gold was guaranteed by the federal government, thus creating job security for mining workers in California.

A cottage, in which former owners of the mine lived in, is within the park grounds.
