The Samuel Hensley House

The Samuel Hensley home was built in 1850 by a man who fought in the Mexican American War. The home is significant because one of its former residents, Samuel’s wife, delivered the papers to San Francisco announcing that California was no longer a territory and that it was being admitted as a new state.
