Sybil Herrold – The First Female Disk Jockey in the United States

Sybil Herrold, the wife of Charles Herrold, became the first female disk jockey in the United States in 1909. Sybil Herrold was part of the first ever radio program in the country, which had launched in San Jose, California.

In present day the KQED building in San Jose is the site of the first ever radio station.
