The Sunnyvale History Museum building is a replica of the Martin Murphy, Junior house that was built in 1850, that was constructed in 2008. The musuem is owned by the Sunnyvale Historical Society and is located within the Sunnyvale orchard park.
The museum consists of several agricultural artifacts from Sunnyvale, photographs of its industrial manufacturing plants, as well as relics of the time the city became known as part of the “Silicon Valley” that developed technology for civilians and government agencies alike. There are photographs of the Henry Iron Works manufacturing plant, the Moffett Federal Airfield, as well as military hardware developed by Westinghouse and Northrop Grumman.
On the second floor, there is a technology timeline, within their special exhibits section, that gives a broader perspective in regards to how technology advanced around the world.
