The James Lick House

The James Lick House is near present day California’s Great America and Levi’s Stadium, within a modern residential complex.

When James Lick passed away the value of some the the land around the home was used to fund the Lick Observatory in Mount Hamilton. In present time, the home is not open to public tours and appears to be in the process of renovation.

Next to the home, within a park, is a mill and granary that James Lick used to operate for his business.

In addition, there is an outdoor vault that is between the James Lick home and the former mill and granary. Very unusual for a large vault to be a standalone structure outside of the home, as most large vaults are kept inside of a home.
