The First Civil Aviation Authority In the United States

The first civil aviation authority in the United States was proposed by Nevada U.S. Senator Patrick McCarran, through his, “Civil Aeronautics Act”.   In 1938, the “Civil Aeronautics Act was passed and shifted the all non-military aviation from the Bureau of Air Commerce to a newly established, independent agency, the Civil Aeronautics Authority.
