The Museum of the Boat People and The Republic Of Vietnam

On Sunday April 8, 2018 I visited, “The Museum of the Boat People and the Republic Of Vietnam”. at History Park in San Jose.

The museum states that hundreds of thousands of Vietnamese attempted to escape Vietnam, during the rule of the communist government, via boats to China. However, many perished during their attempts to immigrate as political refugees.

The museum contains many exhibits honoring the South Vietnamese Army that had fought alongside with the US military during the Vietnam War.

Outside of the museum is a memorial honoring the fallen from the Vietnan war.

In addition there were many paintings depicting Vietnamese life at times of war and in peace.
