My Family Ties to the American Revolution

On March 25, 2018, my Aunt Kris gave me the birth locations and birth dates, in addition to the date of death for my great Grandparents Everett John Newkirk and Lillian Lametha Mason. With that information I was able to trace my family history back to the 1700s, which allowed me to discover the records of a veteran of the American Revolutionary War, Benjamin Franklin Newkirk.

My Great Great Great Great Grandfather Benjamin Franklin Newkirk was born in 1754, the same year that Benjamin Franklin proposed the Albany Plan to the British Parliament and the legislatures of the independent American Colonies.

Benjamin Franklin was already famous at the time of the Benjamin Franklin Newkirk’s birth so I can assume that his parents named him after the founding father.
